So, the four-day weekend happened. That, my friends, was a beautiful thing. I think that the most important event was the birth of another beer. The EPA is fermenting nicely. =)
Now, for the questions...What's up with the nutjobs in the Middle East???? They were killing each other last weekend over the first day of Ramadan. Who cares when it starts??!?!?! The Eastern Orthodox celebrates Christian holidays on different dates than the 'western' church. We don't have a problem with it. Isn't the purpose of a holiday to commemorate or remember something/someone, not fight over the day itself???
Also, after the Pope made the statement about Islam promoting violence, lots of Muslims became violent in demostrating their peacefulness. I asked an American friend of mine that understands the Islam culture quite well. He likened the Pope's comments about Islam to the Russians invading the USA. We would have done all we could to defend ourselves. I don't get it. They're trying to protest a point by supporting it. I keep trying to understand Islam and give it another chance. But, it continues to prove itself increasingly violent and hate-filled.
